Announced the winners of the international competition of product design INDUSTART

 
The solemn awards ceremony of the international competition INDUSTART was held in the Center of Contemporary Art M17, in Kiev on the 30th October 2015.
 
INDUSTART was planned by organizers as an annual event in the field of design as well as contemporary art, technology and business perspectives, for anyone who feels the need for the beauty and harmony of objective reality created by man.
The first year of the contest is noted by organizers, as a successful start! The contest was attended by designers from 35 countries from every continent. Works of the contestants were evaluated by 27 influential representatives of the world of design from 14 countries: journalists, architects and designers.
 
The mission of INDUSTART is to bring harmony into matter and to do it on a commercial scale in various areas of the surrounding environment.
INDUSTART is a comprehensive approach which allows to motivate and gradually organize Ukrainian design environment, as part of the global design community on a large-scale.
"Good professional design is one of the best ways to harmonize life. Every day, the world gives birth to new ideas and brings them into life. Being "Live" means to have access to continuous updating. An international competition is a good tool for expert examination, and for the participant, it is an opportunity to show himself up and to be noticed", says art director and organizer of the competition Eugene Semenenko.
 
 
The necessity and the relevancy of the competition can be seen in the first year statistics:
  • Contestants from 35 countries from every continent
  • 26 jury members from 14 countries of the world
  • 110 works got into the short list by gaining more than 70 points out of the maximum possible 100 points according to the award panel voting.

The best in the category A was the project «Simone» by Sputnik Estudio from Spain.

The best in the category B was the project «An Unobtrusive Walking Aid» by Kevin Chiam Yong Sheng from Singapore.

С-1-13 Pavuk lamp - Kateryna Sokolova, Ukraine
С-2-4 Kids Night-Light - Étienne Labaou, France
C-3-1 Bottlelight - Кристоф Куперт - Германия
The best in the category C was the project «Bottlelight» by Christoph Kuppert from Germany.

D-1-2 Design and Development of A Compact Can Opener - Joshua F. Bernardo, Philippines
D-1-3 Pecker Player - Pavel Nesteruk, Ukraine
D-2-2 Elbow - Andrius Žemaitis, Marius Paulikas, Lithuania.
The best in the category D was the project «Elbow» by Andrius Žemaitis, Marius Paulikas from Lithuania.
 
WINNERS IN THE CATEGORYE. TRANSPORT
E-2-1 City car - Artem Smirnov, Belarus;
E-3-1 Supercavitating submarine «Bullet» - Rashid Tagirov, Russian Federation.
The best in the category E was the project «Bullet» by Rashid Shakirov from the Russian Federation.

F-1-1 ATLAS - David Galvañ, Manuel Bañó, Spain;
F-1-12 Decor object for The "Dogs&Tails» bar - Sergey Makhno, Ukraine;
F-2-1 Veronese reloaded - Elena Trevisan, Italy;
F-1-8 Onion vases - Nastasia Fomina, Ukraine.
The best in the category F was the project «Dogs&Tails» by Sergey Makhno from Ukraine.
 
WINNERS IN THE CATEGORYG. ADORNMENT AND ACCESSORIES
G-1-2 Love Ukraine bracelet - Nastasia Fomina, Ukraine
G-2-3 Rider 1991 - Nazar Malets, Ukraine
The best in the category F was the project «Rider 1991» by Nazar Malets from Ukraine.
 
Nazar Malets won this year competition with the concept of a watch Rider in 1991, scoring maximum number of points. The winner was awarded with the main prize - Trip to show MAISON & OBJET in Paris in January 2016, provided by the General Partner and co-organizer, an international company aiia.
 
Katerina Sokolova won the second prize. He was awarded with an interactive display Wacom Cintiq 13HD, provided by the partner of the contest, the official distributor of Wacom's Ukraine "Novella Company”
 
The winners of each category were awarded with designer watches from the competition partner Ukrainian Project of Designer watches ZAVOD. This year INDUSTART contest consisted of the "Design Challenge" itself and also DESIGN DAYS INDUSTART held in Kiev on 30th October – 4th November.
 
DESIGN DAYS INDUSTART (DDI) are open discussions, meetings, lectures and workshops dedicated to industrial design in Ukraine and around the world! They are for designers and architects specializing in the field of industrial design, for manufacturers of furniture, decor, lighting and jewellery. Also this year, as a part of the DDI, the project "life hack from the pro" was started and organized by the general media partner of the competition, magazine Domus Design. It is a project in which professionals in the field of interior would share real experiences and talk about their practical skills, it is a design tour in the format “Life Experience”.
